2022 Harken Blockheads Lightning Youth World Championship

July 5-10, 2022
This regatta is an important part of maintaining our International Class and provides a fun and competitive platform for talented juniors to be immersed in the Lightning community.
Now is the time to identify potential sailors, clarify and/or schedule your country’s qualifying process.
Selection Deadlines:
➢February 1, 2022: Each Lightning National Class Association or National Authority shall inform the ILCA class office of the number of boats it intends to enter.
➢February 15, 2022: If a Lightning National Class Association or National Authority can not fill its two-boat quota, those available slots will be reallocated to interested countries.
➢March 15, 2022: Each Lightning National Class Association or National Authority shall inform the ILCA class office of the specific competitors that will represent their country.
➢April 15, 2022: Completed registration forms must be returned with the entry fee and damage deposit to the ILCA class office.

Proposed Schedule:
Tuesday July 5, 2022: Registration
Wednesday July 6, 2022: AM Practice Race, PM Championship Racing Begins
Thursday July 7, 2022 thru Saturday July 9: Racing
Saturday July 9: Awards and Closing Ceremony
Entry fee: $750 USD per Team/Boat
Housing provided on request for competitors.
Lunch and Dinner provided Tuesday through Saturday
