Teams Accommodation
During the event, all teams will stay in cabins located close to the venue. The accommodation is organized by the event organizers, so participants do not need to make their own housing arrangements.
When can we arrive to the venue?
The event venue will officially open on Monday, June 22. However, participants may arrive at the accommodation already from Saturday, June 20.
Cabin assignments and check-in information will be provided to teams upon arrival. If you have indicated your early arrival on the registration form, we will reserve the possibility for you to check in before the official start of the event.
What is provided?
The cabins are fully prepared for participants. You only need to bring your personal belongings.
The following items are provided:
- Bed linen
- Pillows and bedding
- Shared bathrooms and washing facilities
- Daily access to a Finnish sauna at the venue
- Daily access to a Fkitchen at the venue
Everything will be ready for use when you arrive.
What Should You Bring?
We recommend bringing:
- Clothing for sailing and outdoor activities
- Casual clothes for evenings and social events
- personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
- Any personal medications
- Phone charger and travel adapters if needed
- A reusable water bottle
You do not need to bring bed sheets or pillows as these are already provided.
Meals and Kitchen Facilities
Breakfast, lunch, and a daily afternoon snack will be provided for all competitors from Monday to Friday. On June 27th, breakfast will also be served to support everyone before their travels.
Breakfast will be served at Järvenpää Manor, located right next to the cabins. Lunch will be served at the sailing club, and the afternoon snack will be available for self-service at the sailing club. All reported special dietary requirements and allergies will be taken into account.
The meals listed above are free of charge for competitors only. Families and support teams are welcome to join meals on a self-paid basis. The sailing club also has a canteen where coffee, light meals, and snacks are available for purchase throughout the day.
The cabins do not have kitchens, but participants will have access to kitchen facilities at the sailing venue. The kitchen also offers a selection of snacks that can be purchased at low prices. If you have favorite snacks or specific dietary preferences, you are welcome to bring additional food items with you.
Lunch tickets can be purchased at the canteen, and a dinner ticket for the prize-giving ceremony can also be bought there. The dinner at the prize-giving ceremony is provided for competitors.
Meals in Social Events
At the sailing club, the barbecue evening is included for all competitors and is free of charge for them. It is a relaxed social event where participants can enjoy food together and spend time with sailors from other countries.
The city trip meal is self-paid for all participants, including competitors. This gives everyone the flexibility to choose what they would like to eat during the visit to the city.
Tap water in Finland
It is also good to know that tap water in Finland is safe to drink, and you can refill your water bottles freely from taps at the venue and accommodation areas.
Shared accommodation
Participants will be staying together with other sailors in team accommodation. Shared living is a great opportunity to make new friends from different countries and experience the summer nights and after-sailing together.
Please remember to respect quiet hours, keep common areas tidy, and be considerate of your roommates.
Experience Finnish sauna culture
One special feature of the accommodation is the daily access to a traditional Finnish sauna. Sauna is an important part of Finnish culture and a great way to relax after a day on the water. First-time visitors are encouraged to give it a try!
